Preparing a magazine file
Stapled magazines are built in multiples of four pages, so plan your content to fit; an extra page can carry an advert, contents or a notes page. Supply one PDF with pages in reading order, 3 mm bleed on every page and text kept well away from the spine and trim. Use high-resolution photos; images from websites or messaging apps often print blurry. Our artwork guidelines cover margins and image resolution.
Magazine, booklet or catalogue?
If your publication is mostly text and short, a booklet may be the faster option, and booklets are a same-day product. Product ranges with prices suit a catalogue, and formal company results suit annual reports. Need help with layout? Collection and delivery
Collection from our Rivonia store is free. Delivery is free within 15 km of the store, and the checkout checks your address. Further afield, we courier nationwide through The Courier Guy, Pudo lockers, PostNet, Aramex or Paxi, priced at checkout by parcel weight.
Common questions
Can I print a small run of magazines?
Yes. Set the quantity in the calculator to see the price excl. VAT for short runs, and compare how the unit price changes as the quantity increases. It is a practical way to test a new publication.
Why must my page count be a multiple of four?
Stapled magazines are made from sheets folded in half, each giving four pages. If your content does not fill the last sheet, add a contents page, advert, contacts page or notes page.
Can you lay out my magazine?
Yes. Send your articles, photos and branding, and tick "design it for me" or price the work on our Design Services page. We send a digital proof of every page for your approval.
Can I order a formal quote for my school or church?
Yes. Choose your options and request a formal quote from the calculator. It is emailed with Accept online and pay buttons, and accepting it creates the invoice for your finance team.
